Andrea Rossing McDowell, PhD, is the IRB Administrator at Seattle University, where she also teaches Business Communication and Editing, and occasionally Russian literature. Dr. McDowell has guided the SU IRB in streamlining review and approval processes, while increasing compliance awareness. She has experience in policy writing and strategic plan development, speech writing, journalism, and editing. She holds a journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia; an MS in Higher Education/Student Affairs, and an MA and PhD in Slavic Studies from Indiana University-Bloomington. She regularly serves on the PRIM&R AER planning committee and presents on human subjects issues at multiple conferences.
