About this Course


IACUC Chair provides an introduction to the roles and responsibilities of the IACUC chair as guided by Animal Welfare Regulations (AWR) and Public Health Service (PHS) Policy. It also addresses the IACUC chair’s role and responsibilities for IACUC meetings, as well as additional duties outside of IACUC meetings.

Roles and Responsibilities of an IACUC Chair

Outlines the IACUC chair’s qualifications and role, and provides guidance on carrying out the chair’s duties, in keeping with ethical principles, regulations, policies, and procedures. It also describes the ideal relationship between the IACUC administrator, IO, and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC).
