SUMMARY:NIH OBSSR Director’s Webinar: Extending Human Healthspan: Considering Psychosocial Drivers of Healthy Aging
DESCRIPTION:Join the NIH for its upcoming webinar\, “Extending Human Healthspan: Considering Psychosocial Drivers of Healthy Aging.” This presentation will explore the role that psychosocial factors play in health and aging. As populations continue to live longer\, researchers are increasingly examining how both negative experiences\, such as social stress\, and positive psychological and social factors may influence health outcomes over time. The session will review epidemiological evidence linking these factors to chronic disease\, overall well-being\, and the aging process. \nKey topics include: \n\nResearch on the relationship between psychosocial factors and long-term health\nPotential mechanisms through which social and psychological experiences may affect physical health and aging\nStrategies and approaches that may help support healthy aging\n\nThis webinar will be presented by Laura Kubzansky\, PhD\, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. \nThe event is open to the public and will conclude with an opportunity for audience questions and discussion. Attendees will gain insight into current research examining the connections between social experiences\, psychological well-being\, and healthy aging. \nVisit the event page for more information.
