Jessie Carder, MS

USDA Animal Welfare Information Center

Jessie Carder is the USDA National Agricultural Library’s (NAL), Animal Welfare Information Center (AWIC) Coordinator. Jessie attended Virginia Tech and pursued a BS in Animal and Poultry Sciences. She then received her MS from the University of Tennessee in animal behavior and welfare. She started her career as an on-farm Animal Welfare Auditor. In 2018, she was took a position at AWIC as a Technical Information Specialist. Then, she worked for the Department of Defense as an IACUC Compliance Coordinator overseeing animal research labs, before returning to AWIC in 2020, in her current role, as the AWIC Coordinator.
