With 25 years of survey experience, Dr. Jans implements and innovates methods in web, mail, phone, and in-person surveys. His research includes questionnaire usability and pretesting, interviewer-respondent interaction, address-based sampling, and sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) measurement. His experience includes academic, government, and private sectors, specifically the Center for Survey Research (UMass Boston), U.S. Census Bureau, California Health Interview Survey (UCLA), ICF, and the National Center for Health Statistics. He has taught for the University of Connecticut, the University of Maryland, and the University of Mannheim. He is a member of the American Association for Public Opinion Research and the American Statistical Association.
