Rana Barar is Senior Program Manager at UCSF’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), leading structural change to ensure that UCSF’s research advances health equity. Prior to CTSI, Rana co-directed the Turnaway Study at Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH). Her work was featured in the book The Turnaway Study: Ten Years, a Thousand Women, and the Consequences of Having–Or Being Denied–An Abortion. At ANSIRH, she oversaw a range of studies on the safety and acceptability of alternative methods of provision of medication abortion. Rana is also deeply committed to inclusion and anti-racism initiatives at UCSF.
