Karen Hansen served as the Institutional Review Office Director at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research from 1988-2019. Ms. Hansen cofounded the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative in 2000. She has organized regional, national and international IRB training workshops and conferences. Ms. Hansen previously served on the AAHRPP Council on Accreditation. Ms. Hansen was also a co-leader of the Planning Committee for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network’s IRB Directors Forum from 2009-2019. She has served as a member of PRIM&R’s Board of Directors from 2015-2020. She currently serves on the CITI Program’s External Advisory Board.
