Summary:
As a Research Compliance Associate for the Research Integrity Office, you will provide guidance to investigators and conduct research compliance reviews. This position supports the Committee on Scientific Integrity by conducting inquiries and investigations into allegations of research misconduct: as either falsification, fabrication, or plagiarism in the research record. This position will report to the Lead Research Compliance Associate/Assistant Research Integrity Officer. The position also works jointly with and reports to the Research Integrity Officer/Executive Director of Research Compliance and senior leadership.
Job Duties
-Offers guidance to investigators regarding best practices related to data security, organization and preventing detrimental research practices.
-Offers guidance and education to the College’s researchers regarding the institutional processes and misconduct policies.
-Provides subject matter expertise to the College pertaining to best practices in the research compliance and data security and organization.
-Provides expertise to key departmental leadership regarding research misconduct proceedings and other research noncompliance.
-Assesses allegations of research misconduct, assists with sequestering and organizing relevant data pertaining to research misconduct proceedings.
-Prepares reports and formal letters to leadership and the Committee on Scientific Integrity (COSI) from institutional assessments of research misconduct.
-Tracks all research misconduct allegations and assessments to ensure deadlines with federal agencies are met.
-Offer general administrative support to the oversight committee, the research integrity officers, and senior leadership.
-Develops and analyzes key performance indicators to define success in research misconduct proceedings.
-Works closely with Investigators across the college to complete any administrative corrective actions related to findings of research misconduct.
-Assists with the development and communication of guidance for the College’s research community related to responsible conduct of research and detrimental research practices.
-Assists with the development and implementation of a program which educates and assesses BCM wide adherence to best practices in responsible conduct of research.
-Conducts and coordinates educational workshops and seminars regarding issues in research misconduct.
-Builds and maintains effective relationships with Investigators.
-Contributes to the development of goals and planning efforts for the department.
-Leads the program to achieve success.
-Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Two years of relevant experience.
