Job Description:
This position works with the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP), Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP), Research Programs and Principal Investigators to coordinate and facilitate the research oversight processes at Intermountain Health. The position will be assigned to one more areas of HRPP oversight (IRB, Research Integrity, Research Conflicts of Interest). An HRPP Administrator acts as a subject matter expert on the regulatory and ethical requirements governing human subjects research. An HRPP Administrator serves as a resource to research teams.
Essential Functions
Performs a thorough and thoughtful reviews of research protocols and applications
Identifies problematic areas that may require additional clarification.
Works with research teams to solve problems and navigate regulatory and ethical issues in human subjects research.
Acts as a subject matter expert on the protection of human subject research,
IRB: Serves as an alternate IRB member and expedited IRB reviewer, provide education and guidance to IRB staff and IRB Members, Conveys IRB determinations, requests for clarification or concerns to research teams in a clear manner.
Maintains In depth understanding of research regulations and Intermountain research policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 (two) years of IRB, human research protections, or research compliance experience or other relevant regulatory experience. OR 6 (six) years of IRB, human research protections, or research compliance experience or other relevant regulatory experience.
Strong communication and organization skills
Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment preferred.
Must have solid judgment and capacity to exercise discretion to resolve ambiguity and promote effective solutions.
Must have a strong commitment to constructively contribute to a customer service environment, providing professional, timely, efficient, and courteous service to the university research community.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree
Three years or more of relevant IRB or research compliance experience
Certified IRB Professional (CIP)

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
