Dr. Civin is Professor, Pediatrics and Physiology; Director, Center for Stem Cell Biology & Regenerative Medicine; and Associate Dean for Research, University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Civin discovered CD34+ hematopoietic stem cells, opening new directions in stem cell, leukemia, immunology, and transplantation research and clinical transplantation. He serves on the Steering Committee of the AAMC Group on Research Advancement and Development, and recently brought CITI Program into partnership with AAMC to co-develop the course on COVID-19: Back to Campus (used by over 300 institutions).
