Ernest D. Prentice, PhD

Dr. Prentice is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Genetics, Cell Biology and Anatomy, the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is the former Institutional Official for UNMC’s Human Research Protection Program and Animal Care and Use Program, and a frequent contributor to the literature on ethics and regulation of human and animal research. He is past-President of the Scientists Center for Animal Welfare. From 2003-2007, he served as the Chair of the HHS Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protection. He received PRIM&R’s 2005 Distinguished Service Award and, in 2006, OHRP’s medallion for Outstanding Achievement in Human Subject Protections.
