In 2000, she received a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Denver for work in theoretical biophysics, related to thermodynamics of protein folding. Since 2006, Dr Hammack has assumed the role of RSA to ensure safe and ethical conduct of clinical research, provide consultative expertise, and advise investigators about study design and conduct. She chaired the CCTSI Safety Monitoring Committee, was a member of the Research Ethics Consult service, and was the primary reviewer for adult and pediatric panels for the campus IRB. Most recently, she was a contributor and editor for the CTSA DSMB Training Manual.
