Brandy Nelson, MS, SM(NRCM), CBSP, ASP

Brandy Nelson is the University of Kentucky’s Biosafety Officer. She is a member of the Institutional Biosafety Committee, the Institutional Contact for Dual Use Research, Manager of the Biological Safety Department, and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics. She currently serves as Co-Team Lead for the ABSA International Education & Curriculum Task Force, MABioN Past-President, and SEBSA President. Brandy is a Certified Biosafety Professional, a Specialist in Microbiology, and holds BA and MS degrees in Biology from Transylvania University and Eastern Kentucky University. Brandy has worked in biosafety for over 15 years.
