Elizabeth Allan, PhD

University of Maine and StopHazing

Elizabeth Allan, Professor of Higher Education at the University of Maine, has authored three books and more than 50 research articles and book chapters. Principal Investigator for the National Study of Student Hazing (2008), she currently leads an expanded follow-up study. She has presented research to the U.S. Senate HELP Committee and delivered legislative briefings on the Stop Campus Hazing Act. Her research has been reported by the Associated Press, The Chronicle of Higher Education, The New York Times, USA Today, NPR, PBS, CNN, CBS, and others. She directs the Hazing Prevention Consortium to build an evidence base for prevention.
