Laura McBain (she/her) (@laura_mcbain) is a designer, adjunct professor, and Managing Director at the Stanford d.school. She specializes in professional education and strategic partnerships, working with companies, nonprofits, and philanthropic institutions to harness design as a catalyst for innovative transformation. At the d.school, Laura previously served as Co-Director of the K12 Lab and now leads organizational design strategy, shaping how the d.school evolves, collaborates, and scales its impact. Laura is the author of My Favorite Failure: How Setbacks Can Lead to Learning and Growth, a book that explores the role of risk-taking, failure, and resilience in fostering innovation and growth.
