Leia K. Cain, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Qualitative Methodology and Coordinator of the Qualitative Research Methods in Education graduate certificate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Cain primarily uses creatively driven qualitative methodological approaches in her scholarship, which is divided into two lines of inquiry: (1) methodological and ethical reasoning in research and (2) examining the experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. Her work has been featured in journals such as Departures in Critical Qualitative Research, Qualitative Studies in Education, and Disability & Society. Dr. Cain has presented her work across the United States, Japan, and Trinidad and Tobago.
