OSTP Requests Input on NSPM 33 Research Security Requirements

The Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) is seeking public comments on a draft Research Security Programs Standard Requirement developed in response to National Security Presidential Memorandum 33 (NSPM 33). The Standard Requirement calls for research institutions receiving Federal science and engineering support in excess of $50 million per year to establish and operate a research security program that includes elements of:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Foreign travel security
  • Insider threat awareness and identification
  • Export control training.

The deadline for comments is June 5, 2023. See the official request for information to view the draft Standard Requirement.
