The National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) has developed an outreach initiative to raise risk awareness in emerging technologies and to help guard against the potential misuse of these technologies. This initiative, “Safeguarding Science,” focuses on emerging technologies that may potentially affect U.S. economic and national security, including artificial intelligence, bioeconomy, autonomous systems, quantum, and semiconductors.
To help with safeguarding science goals like better identifying security challenges and assisting academia and industry in developing their own methods to protect research, a safeguarding science toolkit is now available to provide resources in a variety of fields, including:
