Betsy Matos, PhD, MPH

Betsy Matos has served as the Iowa State University Biosafety Officer since September 2006. She has the honor to work with three Biosafety Specialists with the mission to prevent illness and injury. Additionally, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Teaching in the Colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture and Life Sciences. Betsy received a BS in Crop Protection from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayagüez, Master of Science in Entomology, and PhD in Entomology and Horticulture from Iowa State University in 2005. In 2018, she completed a Master of Public Health degree from Des Moines University.
