This concise course covers the essentials of observational research protocol design and development. It explores the three primary types of study designs commonly used: cross-sectional, case-control, and cohort (both prospective and retrospective). Learners explore the strengths and weaknesses of each and what research questions they best address. The course also guides learners through the development and writing of an observational research protocol. Full of images and graphics, the course illustrate issues and explain key areas using real life examples.

She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health at Mount Sinai and Adjunct Associate Professor with the Clarkson University-Mount Sinai Program in Bioethics.
