NCI Career Development Workshop: Advancement to Research Independence

Join the NCI Center for Cancer Training (CCT) Cancer Training Branch (CTB) for the NCI Career Development Workshop: Advancement to Research Independence on March 9, 2026. This workshop is designed to help NCI career development awardees and prospective applicants build the knowledge and skills needed to successfully transition toward independent careers in cancer research, with a focus on practical guidance for long-term professional advancement.

Speakers will include:

• NCI career development awardees who will share their experiences and perspectives on applying for these awards as well as navigating the tenure path.
• NCI program and grants management staff who will shed light on the NIH grants system and the roles they play in guiding applicants and awardees.
• Peer reviewers who describe what they look for in an NIH research project grant application.
