Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC) Module Update

The CITI Program at the University of Miami is pleased to announce the update of the Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC) module, which is available to subscribing organizations as a part of the Biosafety and Biosecurity (BSS) series. The DURC module now covers a description of the Institutional Contact for Dual Use Research (ICDUR) and the Institutional Review Entity (IRE) along with a thorough review of their responsibilities. The peer reviewed module can serve as an invaluable educational tool for principal investigators, researchers, Institutional Biosafety Committee members, and institutional administrators. The update also coincides with the effective date of the NIH DURC Policy, which takes effect this week (24 September 2015).
