Carley Benham Emerson is the Director of the Office of Human Research Ethics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She leads a team of 30 IRB professionals, and oversees HRPP operations, education and training, and quality improvement. Carley has a BS in Biology from Towson University and a MS in Epidemiology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She has worked in the field of clinical research for over 25 years.
