Jacob Kolman is a senior scientific writer in Faculty and Research Development at Houston Methodist and research associate at the Applied Cognitive Ergonomics Lab, Texas A&M University. Mr. Kolman obtained an MA in Philosophy (Rice University) and BA in English and Philosophy (Austin College). He has published literature reviews and philosophical essays on research ethics and medical professionalism; during graduate training, he contributed to a compendium of over 7,000 distinct ethical and methodological standards of clinical research including regulatory, professional, and industry sources. Today he helps interdisciplinary faculty and trainees prepare peer-reviewed publications, grant applications, and protocols for IRB review.
