John Talerico, III, BSEE, MBA

Mr. Talerico serves as the Assistant Vice President for Research Security and Chief Research Security Officer at Virginia Tech. He has over 15 years experience in export controls, research security, and industrial security compliance in academia. Additionally, Mr. Talerico served 3 years as a Licensing Associate for Virginia Tech’s technology transfer organization protecting, marketing, licensing, and ultimately commercializing the university’s intellectual property. Mr. Talerico earned a master of business administration in 2006 and holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering, both from Virginia Tech.
