Kate Lehman, PhD

National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition at USC

Kate Lehman, PhD, is executive director of the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition and an affiliated faculty member in the University of South Carolina’s Department of Leadership, Learning Design, and Inquiry. Her research focuses on major selection among first- and second-year college students, student retention and success in their academic fields, particularly STEM and computing, and the college-to-career transition. Prior to joining the Center, Lehman co-founded Momentum: Accelerating Equity in Computing and Technology and held research, faculty, and student affairs positions at UCLA, The Ohio State University, and the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
