Randy Albrecht, PhD

Dr. Albrecht is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology and a member of the Global Health and Emerging Pathogens Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. Dr. Albrecht directs biomedical research focused on host-pathogen interactions involving respiratory viruses and has over 15 years of biocontainment research experience. Dr. Albrecht serves as the Director of BSL-3 biocontainment facilities, the Responsible Official for the Select Agents and Toxins Program, and the Senior Director of the Biological Safety Program for biomedical research. He is a member of the American Biological Safety Association (ABSA).
