About the Summer Institute
This intensive program equips fellows to lead systematic research efforts that drive evidence-based behavioral interventions into clinical and preventive services. Participants will gain advanced knowledge and skills to design and execute rigorous trials that influence practice guidelines, healthcare policies, and third-party coverage.
- Learning Objectives:
- Build and lead multidisciplinary teams for RCTs
- Design phase II/III RCTs
- Implement methods for maintaining internal validity
- Share course knowledge through mentorship and training activities
The program includes a four-day in-person workshop and nine monthly virtual meetings in small, faculty-led learning communities. Fellows will benefit from the guidance of esteemed senior researchers with expertise in behavioral intervention trials. Up to 30 fellows will be selected annually, with 120 learners across four cohorts.
Eligibility
The course is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents with at least two years of postdoctoral experience and a background in behavioral intervention research. Ideal candidates should have:
- Experience with behavioral intervention research as a trainee, co-investigator, or principal investigator
- A current or planned behavioral intervention trial to refine during the program
- Clear strategies to integrate diverse perspectives in their research
