The Bridging Bioethics Research & Policymaking grant initiative aims to foster the integration of bioethics into policy and bridge the gap between research findings and decision-making. By supporting innovative and practical projects, this initiative addresses the complex ethical challenges of healthcare, science, and technology advancements.

Application Details

To be considered for this grant opportunity, proposals must be submitted by July 24, 2023, before 11:59 p.m. ET. Projects will commence on or after October 1, 2023, but no later than January 1, 2024. Guidance for Proposals

The Greenwall Foundation is intentionally open-minded and encourages creative ideas and applications from various sources. Policymaking at the federal, state, or local level is considered relevant under this initiative. The Foundation envisions mechanisms that facilitate translating bioethics research into actionable formats for policymakers or scaling up evidence-based policy solutions. However, traditional academic publishing is likely to be outside the scope of this initiative.

It is important to note that the Greenwall Foundation will not fund direct or grassroots lobbying to influence specific legislation under this initiative. Nonetheless, education, nonpartisan analyses, reports, and other similar efforts that promote ethical decision-making in policy are deemed appropriate.

Partnerships and Expertise

Recognizing the multidisciplinary nature of bioethics and policy, the Greenwall Foundation welcomes proposals that benefit from diverse professional expertise. Project teams may include individuals from various fields, such as policy, communications, media relations, data visualization, or other relevant domains. Encouraging collaborations between academia and policymakers or professionals outside of academia, the Foundation recognizes the value of different perspectives in addressing complex bioethical challenges.

The Greenwall Foundation will award up to $50,000 for projects selected under this initiative. However, projects with smaller budgets and shorter timelines will be given priority.
