About this Webinar

Health disparities adversely affect groups of people and are expressed in clinical care and research. Implicit bias and ways of communicating perpetuate disparities and discrimination in clinical research and healthcare. This webinar aims to raise awareness of this issue and provide strategies in research design and conduct to understand and address health disparities. It identifies resources for researchers available from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD). It concludes with methods to build strong and diverse research teams and practices to facilitate diversity and inclusiveness in research.
