CITI Program joining BRANY

Dear Friends, Colleagues, Valued CITI Clients and Customers,

It is our pleasure to announce that the Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY), a national organization providing research support services, has acquired the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida.

BRANY was founded by four leading academic research institutions in the New York City area in 1998. Our acquisition by a like-minded organization will allow CITI Program to grow while still maintaining its commitment to quality, affordable research ethics education and training for all members of the research team. CITI Program’s mission will continue to be to promote the public’s trust in the research enterprise, by fostering integrity in the research community through its line of investigator-, student-, and administrator-focused e-learning tools and products.

The CITI Program is the leading global provider of online research ethics education content and opportunities. As such, it is a perfect fit for BRANY, a leading provider of research support services to hospitals, academic medical centers and investigators. BRANY’s services, which are designed to improve research efficiency and quality, include an array of outsourced clinical trial start up services such as IRB review, contracting, monitoring and Medicare coverage analysis. BRANY was the first IRB in New York to be accredited by the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP). Through its consulting division, the HRP Consulting Group, BRANY provides institutions with consulting services for human subject protection, accreditation preparation, and clinical research compliance. BRANY is also the developer of Protocol Builder®, a clinical protocol development tool for investigator-initiated research. BRANY is an expedited end-to-end solution for clinical trials. The company is owned by NYU School of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and Northwell Health, four academic medical centers in the New York City area.

The CITI Program has benefited greatly from your loyal support for the past 16 years. We firmly believe that this acquisition will permit CITI Program to enhance its already high profile in the community, high service levels and bring additional e-learning opportunities using modern pedagogies to the global research community. Our goal is a seamless transition over the next several months. We will keep you updated on the progress through email circulars and the CITI Program newsletter. Importantly, you will see how the new CITI Program will be of greater benefit to you, your students and your investigators.

Thank you for your support of the CITI Program over the past 16 years. I can assure you that with BRANY, the best is yet to come.

Sincerely,

Paul Braunschweiger Ph.D.
