The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or Clery Act is a federal law signed in 1990 that requires institutions of higher education to disclose information regarding campus security. Melinda Latas, Director of Systemwide Clery and Campus Safety Compliance at Cal State, spoke to On Campus with CITI Program about the history of the Clery Act and its current requirements.

Melinda Latas, MA, MSL – California State University Office of the Chancellor
As Director of Systemwide Clery and Campus Safety Compliance, Melinda Latas centrally supports the twenty-three campuses of the CSU as part of the administrative team at the Office of the Chancellor. Prior to coming to the CSU in 2020, Melinda managed Clery Compliance at the Ohio State University.

Darren Gaddis, Assistant Director for Content and Education – CITI Program
He is the program manager and lead developer for educational content for higher education and research methodology at CITI Program. Mr. Gaddis received his BA from University of North Florida, MA from The George Washington University, and is currently a doctoral student at Florida State University.
