Kimberley Serpico, EdD, CIP, is Associate Director of IRB Operations for the Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School, and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Kim has worked at higher education institutions, and on their IRBs, for over 15 years. Kim’s professional areas of expertise are the ethical conduct and regulatory compliance of human subjects research and protection of participants involved in biomedical and social-behavioral research. Kim’s research interests include IRB use of outside expertise, IRB application quality, IRB metrics – publishing her work in AJOB Empirical Bioethics, Journal of Clinical and Translational Science, and Nature Medicine.
