About this Webinar

Issued on December 20, 2021, in Financial Assistance Letter (FAL) 2022-02, the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) interim conflict of interest policy for financial assistance applies to all non-federal entities and individuals receiving the DOE’s financial assistance awards. These recipients were required to be in full compliance by June 18, 2022. This webinar provides an overview of the DOE’s interim policy, with special attention to key definitions and institutional responsibilities, and a comparison to the Public Health Service (PHS) COI regulation. Learners explore the management and reporting requirements associated with the interim policy. The webinar concludes with a review of the government’s available corrective action options articulated in the interim policy.
