About this Course

This module presents best practices for teledentistry, as an alternative way for dental professionals to deliver and coordinate dental care. Much like in telemedicine, teledentistry utilizes a virtual platform to allow a dental provider to conduct a patient visit or to connect virtually with another provider. This method offers several benefits to both the patient and the provider, by eliminating the need for patient transportation to and from the office, allowing for more accessible and convenient access to care, by improving efficiency both within the dental office and for the patient, by minimizing scheduling delays and wait times, and by allowing for improved continuity of care and more opportunities to build a trusting relationship between patient and provider.

Course Objectives:

  • Utilize Telemedicine and Technology for Dental Care Management
  • Apply Best Practices for Diagnosing and Managing Teledentistry Patients
  • Facilitate Effective Communication for Local and Regional Dental Care
