Meet the Authors
Lillian Leachet – New York University
- Lillian Leachet is the Conflict of Interest Manager at New York University and oversees the Office of Conflict of Interest within the Research Integrity & Compliance unit. She has worked in multiple areas of research compliance including conflict of interest, responsible conduct of research, human research protections program, undue foreign influence & research security, and export controls.
Allison Ratterman, PhD – University of Louisville
- Allison Ratterman, PhD, directs the Office of Research Integrity at the University of Louisville. In addition, Dr. Ratterman directs the Conflict of Interest and Commitment Office, covering research, academic, business, clinical, and institutional aspects, including chairing the Conflict Review Board.
Clinton Schmidt, JD – Pennsylvania State University
- Clinton Schmidt oversees the Conflict of Interest and Commitment program at Penn State University, which is responsible for research-related COI, Institutional COI, and Conflicts of Commitment. Clint is also responsible for the institution’s Research Security Program, which helps researchers collaborate successfully while protecting against foreign influence.
Cristen Jandreau, PhD – Virginia Tech
- Cristen Jandreau, PhD, is the Director of the Research Conflict of Interest Program at Virginia Tech. In her role, she provides leadership and direction for the identification and management of financial conflicts of interest related to sponsored research. She is a molecular biologist by training and received her PhD in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences from Virginia Tech.
Cory Anand, JD – Cleveland Clinic
- Cory L. Anand, JD, is the Director of Conflict of Interest (COI) in Cleveland Clinic’s Innovation Management and Conflict of Interest Program. She received her JD, magna cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2010.
Debra Schaller-Demers, MSOM – New York University, CUNY
- Debra is a seasoned leader with over two decades of experience in research management with a concentration in research integrity, compliance, outreach, and education. At NYU, she serves as the Research Integrity Officer and oversees RCR education, Conflicts of Interest, and the Human Research Protections Program, including the IRB.
