In 2002, International Men’s Health Week was launched as the result of a Men’s Health Network meeting at the 2nd World Congress on Men’s Health in Vienna. It is recognized by many countries as the week leading up to and including Father’s Day and serves as a reminder for men of all ages to take care of their health by increasing their awareness of preventable health problems and encouraging early detection and treatment of diseases.
