Accelerated credit in higher education has implications for students, faculty, staff, and institutions. The extent and use of accelerated credit for students is becoming more common, which presents challenges for all stakeholders involved. Students are beginning to enroll in accelerated credit programs often in high school or earlier, which has implications for their learning experience at a higher education institution. In this presentation, accelerated credit and education policy expert Hollie Daniels, PhD describes how to identify acceleration options such as Advanced Placement, dual enrollment, and International Baccalaureate. The webinar also recognizes and indicates ethical considerations and challenges related to researching accelerated coursework/earning accelerated credit and demonstrates the outcomes of students who complete accelerated coursework/earn accelerated credit. The webinar additionally describes potential challenges currently in tertiary education.
