The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the world’s largest government funder of biomedical research. Most of the NIH budget supports grants to universities, medical schools, and research institutions across the U.S. This webinar focuses on NIH’s K awards for research career development. NIH offers several K programs, each aimed at a different population or career stage. The webinar explores each of these, including developing a process to select the most appropriate program for a given situation. It also identifies the common components of K proposals and considers some of the challenges in preparing a K proposal.
