Overview
The annual NIH Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (BSSR) Festival, organized by the Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR) and the NIH BSSR Coordinating Committee (BSSR-CC), highlights significant NIH-funded BSSR projects across various institutes and centers. It provides a platform to explore cutting-edge research, its application in biomedical fields, and opportunities for networking and learning.
This year’s festival will include:

- Fireside Chat: An engaging conversation with NIH Director Monica M. Bertagnolli, M.D., and OBSSR Director Jane M. Simoni, Ph.D.
- Focused Sessions on innovative BSSR approaches, including leveraging novel technologies like virtual reality and social network analysis and examining critical interventions addressing adversity, social determinants of health, and health equity.
- Networking Opportunities: A dedicated hour for in-person networking with NIH offices at the beginning of each day.
- Exhibits: Displays from the Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives (DPCPSI), where attendees can learn about co-funding priorities.
